Learn Speaking in English without a partner:

The world is crazy about talking in English, but the most common obstacle people face is getting an environment where they can learn English or a partner with whom they can practice speaking English. I would suggest we don’t need a partner to practice speaking every day; we can create an environment to learn our own English.

Suppose our partner is better than us at speaking English; then, to avoid embarrassment, we tend to speak less to avoid mistakes, and ultimately, we learn less. Whereas if our partner is below our level of English speaking, then in that case, we need more scope to learn much. There are also more barriers, like our partner not showing up according to our schedule, and many more.

So as per my idea, we should practice independently by creating an English environment around us. We should practice, make mistakes, learn from them, and work on them. After a week, we can talk with someone to test how much we have improved within this one week. By following this method, we can learn the English-speaking skill much faster.

Let us see some ways to learn spoken English of our own:

1. Read books, Novels, Newspapers, and blogs: we can read a lot of content from books, newspapers, Novels, Blogs, etc. We have to read it one time slowly to understand it and six times loudly. We can just read for 10 min and then repeat the same thing six times. After reading it seven times, much information will go inside our heads. Now we should practice telling the content we read in our own words. Remember, If it is difficult for us to explain a whole paragraph in our words, then we should read two sentences at a time and explain it in our words.

2. Watch English movies without a subtitle: When we watch movies with subtitles, we are doing reading practice. We should practice English listening more to improve our pronunciation and sentence formation.

3. Repeat after listening to any audio content in English: If we listen to any podcast or audio story, we can use that habit to learn spoken English. We should listen to one sentence and then pause it and tell it loudly, then again listen to the following sentence, pause it, and tell it loudly. If we do this, it will help us in increasing our sentence formation idea and will also give us the confidence to speak in English.

4. Practice double role-playing: We don’t need a partner to do a role-play session. We can play both characters. Suppose we need to do a role-playing session related to a salesperson and a customer; in that case, we can both play the role of customer and salesperson.

5. Practice telling (will do/ done) activities daily: It is a result-driven activity. When we wake up, we must first practice telling ourselves what we are going to do throughout the day, and at night, before going to bed, we will again tell ourselves what we have done throughout the day. The twist here is that we have to record the activities we will say, and in our free time, we have to analyze where we made a mistake and work on those mistakes.

We must understand that learning grammar and cramming vocabulary will not help us speak English fluently. If we must learn spoken English, we must start speaking in English today. We will make mistakes, but those mistakes will help us learn spoken English. Knowing things how to speak English will not help us; We have to practice those things to be fluent in English. So from today, let’s promise we will follow the above 5 points for six days a week, and on Sunday, we can test how much we improved by conversing in English with anyone we feel is suitable.

If we feel there is no one who can help us in testing our speaking skills,

We can Join Avilash Spoken English course.
